CHILDREN CENTRE

Project no.3

Children Centre a third year, second-semester project that was primarily for the growth and development of the children in Kingstown, St. Vincent. This project entailed creating a space that can facilitate learning through play that the local children can take part.

Nortica the name I gave my project took its name from the design concept, a concept I derived due to the disconnection of the sea from the town of St. Vincent. I wanted to bring back the connection by creating a water park where children can come play and learn about the sea. I began my design process by analyzing my site given, by examining the climate, vehicular and pedestrian traffic, public and private entrances, sun studies etc. Because of the L-shaped site given and the towering buildings that surround the site had greatly impacted my design approach.

Again architect Daniel Libeskind style of architecture and Renzo Piano's Nemo Museum both where used as precedence for this project.
